Spray Foam Attic Insulation
Looking for loft insulation? As more and more people start to understand that their energy bills are way higher than they need to be, we find many customers coming to us for attic insulation to reduce their overall costs. Spray foam insulation, which can be either closed cell spray foam, or open cell, is a popular choice. Because it is added to the space as a spray foam, it covers the entire area - no gaps are left for the heat to escape. This makes for an effective and efficient approach to quickly making sure your attic space is fully insulated.

All over the world, people are increasingly understanding the importance of insulation in their homes - and nowhere more so than in the attic. A lot of the energy from the house is lost through the attic and roof - making these important areas to seal and insulate. If you’re paying to heat or cool your home - and you don’t have attic insulation, then you’re paying too much for your energy. The professional team here at New Haven Insulation would be happy to assess your property to help you understand the benefits you could reap from attic insulation - typically these include heavily reduced energy bills and a much more environmentally friendly home overall.
What Is Spray Foam Insulation?
Spray foam insulation, which is also called expanding foam insulation, is often used when retro-fitting older homes, and particularly to add insulation into cavity walls and attics. It is a practical approach, because it can be quickly applied, in all variety of size of space. With spray insulation, insulating material is sprayed into a space to form a complete blanket over the area being covered. There are no gaps - and so nowhere for the heat to escape the attic. Spray foam insulation can be a relatively expensive approach compared to batt insulation or some other methods, but it achieves an excellent result and lasts well.
Open Or Closed Cell Spray Insulation?
Both open and closed cell insulation have different properties, making the suited to different needs and spaces. Open cell expanding spray foam is less commonly used than closed cell, and often has a lower R value. However, it is cheaper than closed cell, and can be used for tight spaces because it expands to fit the area it is applied to. Closed cell products are more popular because they offer greater levels of insulation, for a reasonable cost. We know that choosing the right type of insulation for your home is tough - which is why we offer advice and ideas to every customer. Give New Haven Insulation a call if you need help!
